Our girls’ cricket team delivered an outstanding performance on 21 August 2026, defeating Hoërskool Piet Potgieter by 10 wickets in a T20 match played at Hoërskool Piet Potgieter’s home ground.
After winning the toss and electing to bowl first, the Dallers restricted Hoërskool Piet Potgieter to 99/4 after their allotted 20 overs. The Dallers’ bowlers maintained pressure throughout, with Danielle Wessels delivering an exceptional bowling performance, taking 2 wickets for just 12 runs in her four overs. Izelke Oosthuizen and Karmi De Klerk each contributed a wicket.
With a target of 100 runs, the Dallers’ batters approached the chase with confidence. The team reached the target in just 13 overs, without losing a single wicket, finishing on 101/0.
Danielle Wessels, who also captains the team, scored an unbeaten 34 runs off 39 balls, while Liliana Jansen van Rensburg remained unbeaten on 32 runs off 38 balls. The two batters led the team brilliantly throughout the run chase.
The Dallers’ impressive performance with both bat and ball highlighted the team’s determination and excellent teamwork. It was a match in which the team maintained control from start to finish.
A special highlight was the recognition of Danielle Wessels as Player of the Match following her valuable contributions with both bat and ball.
