After 21 exceptional years at Hoërskool Ben Viljoen, the time has come to say farewell to a beloved teacher, colleague and mentor – Ms Christel Durie, who is bringing her teaching career to an end and starting a new chapter with her well-deserved retirement.
Over more than two decades, Ms Durie has left an unforgettable mark on the Dallers. She was involved in the Uduxo classes and taught Technical Mathematics, Technical Sciences, Physical Sciences and Technology to the learners with dedication and passion. Her knowledge, patience and willingness to support learners made an exceptional difference in the lives of many young people.
But Ms Durie’s connection to Hoërskool Ben Viljoen extends even beyond her 21 years as a teacher. All three of her children are proud Ben Viljoen alumni, giving the school a very special place in her family’s history. The Daller spirit has therefore lived on not only through her work as a teacher, but also through her family.
Ms Durie, thank you for 21 years of service, dedication, love for education and selfless contribution to Hoërskool Ben Viljoen. Thank you for every lesson, every word of encouragement, every learner whom you gave a little extra courage, and every colleague who was touched by your support.
We say farewell with gratitude, but we also celebrate the legacy you leave behind. May your retirement be filled with joy, rest, new adventures and precious time with your loved ones.
